Paint spraying is a key step to play the role of paint, and there is no room for carelessness. If spraying is not done properly, it will affect the appearance of the object, or damage the painted object or even cause personal injury. Therefore, it is very important to understand the use of paint spray guns. Let TOOL-BAR explain it in detail below.
1. Cleaning of the nozzle
New paint spray guns that have never been used before. In order to ensure the quality spray gun, there will be a lot of anti-corrosion oil in the spray gun. You must remember to clean these anti-corrosion oil before use, otherwise it will seriously affect the use effect or even fail to use. Thinners are generally used for cleaning and anti-corrosion oils (thinners are a colorless and transparent liquid that is most used in paint coating production. Thinners are very volatile and will ignite when exposed to fire. Improper cause of fire or explosion accident). When cleaning, put the nozzle in the thinner and clean it, and the used thinner can be stored and reused (the used thinner should be placed in an open space to let it volatilize by itself, avoid dumping, and pay attention to fire prevention). The grease and metal chips on the threads of the nozzle and other parts should also be cleaned up.
2. Cleaning inside the paint spray gun
To clean the inside of the spray gun, you need to use the paint cup. The specific method is to pour half a cup of high-temperature soapy water into the paint cup, and then shake it vigorously to clean the paint cup and straw, and then use the spray gun to spray soapy water out of the spray gun to clean the interior.
First of all, the paint to be used should be mixed evenly in the paint bucket, and the paint can be put into the spray gun paint cup after about one minute. When filling, you can use funnels and other tools to prevent paint from spilling. After filling, the paint bucket should be sealed as soon as possible to prevent the paint from volatilizing or cracking and drying.
Before spraying, it is necessary to check whether the spraying effect of the paint spray gun is normal on the waste material, and then keep the paint spray gun nozzle and the object being sprayed at a distance of 12-20 cm (pay attention to a constant distance to avoid uneven paint spraying) and ensure that the spray gun is perpendicular to the plane of the object being sprayed, the next spraying should coincide with the last spraying track by 1/3 to ensure the saturation of paint spray thickness and hue.
When moving the spray gun, try to make the spray gun move in a straight line at a uniform speed. If the spray gun moves too fast, the surface of the paint will be too rough after the paint dries; if the moving speed is too slow, the paint thickness on the surface of the object will be over and the overall effect will be affected. Generally, when using a paint spray gun, spray from top to bottom, because this allows the paint that flows down from above to be covered and dissolved by the newly sprayed paint below. When spraying vertical objects such as walls, the moving speed of the paint spray gun can be appropriately accelerated to avoid excessive accumulation and downward flow will affect the lower spraying effect.
1. Cleaning after spraying nitrocellulose paint
When you need to clean the spray gun, remove the compressed air hose and the spray gun paint cup, and then press the trigger to let the paint accumulated in the spray gun drip back into the paint cup. After completing these steps, you can clean the spray gun thoroughly as described above. It is not necessary to clean the spray gun every time after the paint is used. It is only necessary to clean the spray gun when the spray gun is not used during production or when the paint color is changed.
After cleaning, there may be a little thinner in the paint cup. You can put the paint cup back on the spray gun and wait for the next use. After the final cleaning, do not press the trigger again to prevent the thinner accumulated in the spray gun from flowing back into the paint cup, so as to ensure that the internal parts are clean and prevent adhesion (note: this method cannot be used for water-based paint sprayer).
2. Cleaning after spraying water-based paint
After each spray, you should pour the water-based paint back into the paint can as soon as possible, and then rinse the spray gun with clean water. After controlling the paint in the spray gun, add a little water to the paint cup, shake it enough and spray it out from the nozzle. Wipe off any paint left on the surface of the spray gun, and then you can put it in the sink for cleaning. Turn the spray gun upside down in the sink and flush the siphon with warm water to let the water flow out of the nozzle. Wipe or blow dry all accessories after cleaning. If your paint cup has a lid, you can leave the remaining nitro-lacquer or water-based paint in the paint cup without emptying the cup, just clean the spray gun.
Due to the harsh working environment of the spray gun, the paint spray gun sometimes fails. Excessive paint accumulation in nozzles or loose parts are the most common problems. Problems such as the inability to form an oval in the spray pattern are caused by excessive accumulation of paint in the nozzle. At this time, the nozzle needs to be cleaned; while problems such as air leakage are loose parts. If it is caused, pay attention to check the connection of the parts at any time to avoid inconvenience to the operation.
The paint spray gun should be maintained regularly to ensure smooth use and spraying effect. The maintenance of the paint spray gun includes adding lubricating oil and checking the connections of various parts.
